MEET Tiara Payne, MSN, FNP-C

Tiara Payne is a family nurse practitioner (NP) with nearly 10 years of healthcare expertise working in a variety of settings and specialties. She has worked with bariatric surgery, urology, orthopaedics, and medical/surgical patients, among others. Her career includes working for numerous well-respected organizations, including UNC Rex Healthcare, Duke University Hospital, Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, Pharmaceutical Product Development (PPD), and CVS MinuteClinic.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from East Carolina State University where she graduated with honors. Tiara then went on to earn her master’s degree in nursing from Simmons University in Boston, MA. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Nurses Association. Tiara is also certified in Motivational Interviewing, a goal directed counseling style designed to help individuals resolve internal ambivalence and harness the motivation to create positive behavior change. This evidence-based method improves treatment outcomes by supporting patients on their journey while strengthening their motivations and well-being.

At True You Weight Loss, Tiara supports patients throughout their weight loss journey—helping to set and achieve goals, and supporting medical and clinical needs prior to and after their endoscopic weight loss procedures.

Tiara enjoys establishing relationships with her True You Weight Loss patients, and being part of their journey in becoming their happiest, healthiest selves. Outside of work, Tiara enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, or gardening.

• She is a new “plant mom” to 10+ plants, and enjoys visiting local nurseries and greenhouses.
• Tiara loves poetry and reading; among her favorites is Rupi Kaur.
• As a DIY junkie, Tiara loves to work with her hands and always has at least one creative project in the works.
• Tiara likes to travel and explore new places. She hopes one day to visit every continent!
