Laura Justice, or LJ as we call her, is a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about connecting with people and being the nutrition champion for her patients. She obtained her master’s degree in Human Nutrition and completed her dietetic internship at Winthrop University in South Carolina. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art that has helped her think outside the box to create fun nutritional goals and get creative in the kitchen. Her numerous years of nutrition experience has been in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she has worked with many disease states including diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, cancer/cancer prevention and weight loss.
LJ loves bonding with her patients and celebrates each achievement as if it was her own. Like the other dietitians, she is certified in Motivational Interviewing, a goal directed counseling style designed to help individuals resolve internal ambivalence and harness the motivation to create positive behavior change. This evidence-based method improves treatment outcomes by supporting patients on their journey while strengthening their motivations and well-being.
LJ has lived all over the south (Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia) landing in Fort Mill, South Carolina, with her husband and young daughter. Her favorite activities are mountain biking, yoga, gardening, reading, knitting, cooking and eating all different kinds of foods. Along with her family, she has many house plants that she enjoys and has named every one of them.
