Tammy Walker is a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her career in nursing had a late start while she focused on her family, her husband, and raising their three wonderful children. In 2010, Tammy was proud to receive her nursing license in her home state of Massachusetts.
After relocating to North Carolina, Tammy began her gastroenterology and endoscopy nursing career, working in a busy ambulatory GI center in all roles, including nurse educator. It was also here that Tammy was introduced to Dr. Christopher McGowan. His passion and knowledge for weight loss were infectious. Some say timing in life is everything; for Tammy, this held true! Tammy was Dr. McGowan’s first endoscopic weight loss patient, losing 50 pounds in six months with an ORBERA balloon. She has kept the weight off for more than three years and is embracing the quality of her new and improved healthy lifestyle.
Today Tammy has a love and passion for nutrition, weight loss, and improving one’s overall health. Working at True You Weight Loss allows her to relate to and encourage people during their wonderful journey toward improved health and well-being. Tammy’s warmth, humor, and kindness are noticed and appreciated by every patient.
