David is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist who originally graduated from North Carolina State University with bachelor's degrees in computer and electrical engineering. Feeling unfulfilled after working as an engineer for several years, he decided to switch career paths and pursue his interest in the health sciences and his goal of helping others.
After completing nursing school, David worked at Duke University Hospital in the surgical and trauma ICU. He attended Virginia Commonwealth University and graduated with both a master's degree and a doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia. David is board certified to provide anesthesia in all settings, but especially enjoys giving anesthetic care in the GI environment. He is committed to providing each and every patient with safe and compassionate care and is truly honored to be able to help his patients take their initial steps toward a healthy life.
A native North Carolinian, David enjoys spending time with his two children as well as going to car shows and playing music. He loves visiting his hometown of Wilmington and spending time at the beach. In his free time, you can find David working out at the gym, shopping, trying new restaurants, and taking naps!
