Lara is a Registered Nurse and OR Circulator for True You Weight Loss. She has over 25 years of experience in nursing in a variety of fields. Starting her career in the hospital, from Moses Cone in Greensboro to Rex in Raleigh, Lara transitioned to the operating room, where she found her passion.
Lara earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. After graduation she was accepted into the highly competitive 12-month rotational intern program as Moses Cone in Greensboro providing her training in intensive care & various medical/surgical floors. After moving to Raleigh, she worked in the main operating room at Rex Hospital. She has spent most of her professional life working in the OR doing plastic surgery in private practice as well as providing pre and post anesthesia care. She loves being a part of the True You Weight Loss team and taking part in her patients’ weight loss journey.
Lara has deep knowledge of a vast array of surgical procedures. She has a keen eye for assessing and maintaining patient safety needs, comfort, and privacy when performing her responsibilities. She’s constantly striving for efficiency in the OR, while simultaneously making sure patients and their families have a wonderful and informed experience. She has an energetic and cheery personality to help patients have a calm and positive experience.
Lara is a native of Freehold, New Jersey, but has called North Carolina home for over 30 years. She has been married to her high school sweetheart for 23 of those years and they share four wonderful children. When she’s not shuttling kids to activities, Lara is an avid runner, often competing in local races. She is passionate about health and fitness. Her favorite activity, however, is spending time with family at Sunset Beach or on outdoor adventures.
